Incom Corporation T-65T X-Wing "Tandem X" Heavy Assault Starfighter

Developed shortly after the BATTLE OF YAVIN, the unusual "TANDEM-X" was intended as a replacement for the aging, but venerable, Y-WING STARFIGHTER. Based off the X-WING variants in use at the time, the T-65T was designed almost explicitly for use as an assault fighter and close-support craft.

At 90 MGLT the T-65T is faster than the earlier T-65B, although is easily outpaced by newer X-WING. The ship's increased mass reduces her manoeuvrability, although she's still a more than adequate dogfighter. However, her most impressive feature is firepower. The TANDEM-X carries a load of twenty HEAVY PROTON TORPEDOES, more punch than virtually any other starfighter in use.

Despite impressive combat performance, lack of money and resources and a shortage of personnel to provide a required bombardier/navigator, limited the numbers of these fighters produced in favour of the far more versatile standard X-WING models. Following the BATTLE OF HOTH, most T-65Ts with frontline ALLIANCE squadrons were replaced with the more rugged B-WING HEAVY ASSAULT STARFIGHTER.

Quote by Saxman

The ship was modeled mostly out of boredom and after flipping through Crimson Empire II. I found the design quite interesting and thought it would make for a great OPT. So far the ship hasn't appeared elsewhere officially, and I'm not entirely sure on the stats of the fighter, as the only ones I could find came from a fan site so I can't vouch for their officiality.

Note : Due to some issues with the stats the Tandem-X replaces the Missile Boat in order to work properly, (be sure to backup you Missile Boat stats first). In missions and skirmish I recommend arming the ship with ADVANCED proton torpedoes to represent the heavier-than-standard torpedoes the ship is supposed to carry. In addition, to simulate the presence of a second crewman dedicated to aiming the fighters weaponry I would set the fighter's AI to one of the higher settings, preferably Top Ace or Super Ace.

End Quote

Note : Even though this is a Xwing, and could be placed in the Xwing slot, please note that if placed in the Xwing slot the S-Foils will not open or close due to the way this opt has been made. The only things that will rotate are the pilots heads.

All textures are based off the Crimson Empire II picture as seen to the left, the size difference is due to the T-65 A2 X-wing being 12.5m and the T-65T X-wing Tandem X 15.1m in length.

Incom Corporation T-65 X-Wing Fighter Rogue Edition v2

New Features : This new version of the Rogue Xwing, incorporates FG textures from both the old Rogue and Pulsar X-Wings, I decided to remove the Pulsar X-Wing as I wasn't pleased with some of the FG colours, so now you have

RED= Rogue Squadron
GOLD = Wraith Squadron
BLUE = Red Squadron
GREEN = Freedom Squadron

The Rebel Alliance's X-wing starfighter was one of the most advanced fighters of its day when Luke Skywalker flew it into battle against the first Death Star. Many fighters have come along which are faster and more heavily armed, but the X-wing has been assured its place in history because of its role in that stunning Alliance victory.

Yet it's a miracle that the Alliance has the fighter at all. The T-65 X-wing was the last starfighter design produced by Incom Corporation before its seizure by the Empire. When the X-wing was in its final design stages, ISB (Imperial Security Bureau) agents began to suspect that members of Incom's design staff might have sympathies for the Rebel Alliance. A Rebel Commando team helped Incom's senior design staff defect to the Alliance; the designers took with them all the plans and prototypes of the X-Wing.

Incom Corporation T-65 X-Wing Fighter Krayt Dragon Edition v2

New Features: For the new Krayt Dragon X-Wing I used the 25th Anniversary X-Wing, as you can see the new version comes with flightgroup colours, the older version only had one, the Astromech droid also has had a small makeover instead of a silver dome with Blue, Red, Gold and Green trim, I have made the new version with Blue, Red, Gold and Green dome with a silver trim. By now you will know that it includes a Lod and all the Software vectors have been zeroed.

TH-96-B K-Wing Multipurpose Assault Bomber v2

New Features: First off don't expect a new craft its not. All software vectors have been zeroed making the textures sharper and a LOD model has been added to the base. Replaced the pilots heads with newer versions and added glass on the canopy. Oh yeah Abolisher sent me a version of the cockpit with some different textures, so this replaces the old version.

Multi-configurable bomber designed to be more versatile and have a higher sortie rate than the powerful yet erratic B-Wing heavy assault fighter.

In her "standard" form, she is capable of outrunning and out turning most if not all heavy fighters. The addition of the SLAM in her heavy ordinance variants (which tend to be slower and FAR le manoeuvrable) allow her to quickly swoop in, drop her bombs and swoop out, she also carries the Aegis shield system that helped put the E-Wing on the map, the K-Wing is capable of absorbing a tremendous amount of damage and keep her hull in ordinance safe.

General concept of the craft and Stats by Nob Akimoto.

FreiTek E-Wing

New Features : First off don't expect a new craft its not. All software vectors have been zeroed making the textures sharper and a LOD model has been added to the base. Replaced the pilots head with newer versions and added glass on the canopy. Replaced the pirate flightgroup with green. Oh yeah Abolisher sent me a version of the cockpit with some different textures, so this replaces the old version.

Note : To be honest I wouldn't bother downloading this as The Saxman has released a New and better version which can be downloaded at his site SaxSoft Productions

The FreiTek E-wing starfighter was introduced during Grand Admiral Thrawn's campaign against the New Republic. A year later, when the revived Emperor made his bid for power, the ship had become a key element of the New Republic's starfighter forces.

The former Incom Corporation designers who created the fabulously successful X-wing starfighter designed the E-wing. The E-wing gave their new company, FreiTek, a design that ranked with the best fighters any company was producing.
