All the other TIE's
now have to be manually installed, the zip files include
a MXvTED *shp file (Default slot #33), and for Advanced
uses the BHE settings.
Although the NEW
TIE's apart from the TIE Drone come with Base and
Exterior Opt they do not come with the Cockpit Opt's.
For the Raptor, Shadow's, Clutch, Vanguard, Lambda
and Cyclone, the standard TIE Fighter Cockpit will
be used, Copy the TieFighterCockpit.Opt and rename
it to the appropriate name.
For example: -
RepublicTieCockpit.opt
TieFighterANHCockpit.opt
TieClutchCockpit.opt
TieClutchmk2Cockpit.opt
TieVanguardCockpit.opt
TieLambdaCockpit.opt
TieCycloneCockpit.opt
TieShadowDarkCockpit.opt
TieShadowCockpit.opt

This is a short-range
reconnaissance TIE, based on the common TIE fighter.
However the physical
difference between the TIE Vanguard and TIE Fighter
are greater than for the TIE/rc reconnaissance craft.
Several large antennae for sensors and scanners protrude
from the cockpit ball. The upper section of each wing
is shortened and swept outwards to reduce interference
with some of the dorsal scanner devices. It was often
deployed by Imperial forces to gather information
on enemy starship movement before full fleet engagement,
this craft was used as early as the Battle of Yavin.
Weaponry only consists
of one laser cannon placed on the chin on the cockpit
ball. |

This is a droid/computer
controlled starfighter mass-produced from the factories
of the World Devastators of the Battle of Calamari
and the Shadow Hand campaign.
The vehicle is often
called a "TIE Droid", although it would
be more specific and appropriate to call it a TIE
drone instead, since a "drone" is literally
a starfighter with artificial intelligence whereas
"droid" usually refers to an independent
ambulatory android that could be separated from a
vehicle. SFS had experimented with drone TIEs for
many years, but they were impractical as long as the
Empire dominated the sapient and material resources
of the galaxy.
The drone fighter's
programmed piloting and combat tactics tend to be
idiosyncratic or inferior to a living pilot. Therefore
the ability to mass-produce it is the only major advantage.
The TIE drones are deployed only in overwhelming numbers,
and in situations when the efficiency of manufacturing
outperforms the effectiveness of Imperial pilot recruitment
and training. |

Fleet Systems TIE Lambda v2
The Tie Lambda design
came about after the death of Emperor Palpatine at
the Battle of Endor, the Empire was in disorder. Imperial
Warlords through out the galaxy joined forces and
created the NEO Empire.
With this new beginning,
it was decided to create new more powerful fighters
to reek havoc on the New Republic forces, the Lambda
was the first to go into production, intended to replace
the TIE Fighter, it has a stronger hull and is faster
than it's predecessor. The Cockpit or pilot's compartment
is fitted with flight computers, communications, and
life support. Either side of the cockpit from first
glance still have the wing braces from the original
TIE designs, but these in fact are shield generators.
Weaponry for the Lambda
consists of two chin laser cannons. |

The Second of the NEO
Imperial TIE's based on the TIE Interceptor the Cyclone
features three sets of solar collection panels mounted
at equilateral points around the fighters cockpit.
The Cyclone uses the
standard TIE cockpit, drive pod, and wing braces.
The solar collector panels have been elongated and
bent, providing extra power while not limiting the
pilot field of vision. The solar panels appear to
be "dagger-shaped", making the Cyclone far
more intimidating while giving it a smaller profile,
making it harder for opposing gunner to target.
For weaponry, the Cyclone
has four laser cannons mounted at the end of the two
upper solar panels, and two ion laser cannons, one
at the end of the lower solar panel. Advanced targeting
software gives the pilot greater fire accuracy even
during complex manoeuvre's. |
